The licensing of Chinese medicines traders

According to the Chinese Medicine Ordinance, Chinese medicines traders who wish to carry on a business in the retail of Chinese herbal medicines, wholesale of Chinese herbal medicines, wholesale of proprietary Chinese medicines or manufacture of proprietary Chinese medicines shall first obtain a licence issued by Chinese Medicines Board.

For those Chinese medicines traders who have already started their retail and wholesale businesses of Chinese herbal medicines as well as the wholesale and manufacture businesses of proprietary Chinese medicines in Hong Kong on 3 January 2000, they shall apply for the licence under the transitional arrangements as stated in the Chinese Medicine Ordinance.
