The Chinese Medicine Council of Hong Kong (the Council)
is a statutory body established under the Chinese Medicine Ordinance.
Established on 13 September 1999, the Council is responsible for implementing
regulatory measures for Chinese medicine practitioners and Chinese medicines.
The main purpose for regulation of Chinese medicine is to protect public
health and consumers' rights and to ensure the professional standard
of Chinese medicine practitioners and the trade of Chinese medicines
through "self-regulation". The structure of the Chinese Medicine
